I have no idea why I decided to start searching for a new blog layout but it is officially a frustrating process. In contrast with the search however I discovered some random fun things about today:
1. Eating spaghetti with Caitlin and Bailey (thanks for dinner guys).
2. Phil Wickham's music... it's wonderful.
3. Making cookies and eating more cookie dough then is healthy for one person. (The fresh eggs from my Grandma made the dough delicioso!)
4. Super glue is deadly to your skin but works magic with everything else, like TOMS that are worn too much.

I also want to share some lyrics... I feel that when written down, lyrics can be powerful in their own way. Of course music makes lyrics fantastic, but this way you are not just singing them from memorization but actually thinking about them. So here goes:
"The fullness of Your grace is here with me.
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see.
The brightness of Your glory has arrived.
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied."
-Phil Wickham "Divine Romance"

I really want this to be true in my own life and unfortuantly I am not always completely content in God's glory. It's a challenge to realize God's grace and beauty but once again he reminded me of it through the simplicity of shuffling my Itunes.

One and a half is either...
A.) A syndrome described by Wikipedia as an “unusual syndrome [where there] is limitation of horizontal eye movement to abduction of one eye with no horizontal movement of the other eye.
B.) The title of a rare CD EP released by the band Train in 1999.
C.) Or the amount of months I lasted before removing my nose ring.

I think option A is most relevant... or maybe C. Let me give some reasons for only making it a month and half before anyone judges me for it. =)

1. My parents and grandparents didn’t approve. Mostly my dad though and I really respect his opinion. It was bothering me every day that he didn’t like it and I was sick of the constant argument going on in my head of whether I should keep the nose ring or get rid of it. I figured if I got rid of it then I wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. (funny side note: My dad said that if I had wanted to shock him in college I sure accomplished that by piercing my nose. That wasn't my intention but I guess I can check that off my list.)
2. I took it out to look at my face and liked my face better without it.
3. My body doesn’t react well to piercings and it kept getting infected.
4. I am applying to jobs for Summer Project and one of my potential employers said he loved Crusade Kids. Having my nose pierced doesn’t portray Crusade Kids in the way I want to and I don’t want it to limit my ministry by people judging me on first appearances.
5. I can blow my nose normally now. =P

Calf + Horse + Rope + my adopted family = a great weekend!

This weekend was Open House here at Cal Poly and I had a blast. My friends from home, the Nichols Family, came up for the rodeo. Jeremiah is competing this year and it was great to get to see him rope again. Julianne, my "sister", stayed with me and I showed her around the campus. She is so great and I am hoping I showed her enough of campus for her to consider Cal Poly as a school option in a year. Anyway we had a blast and I realized how much I miss the rodeo. I basically lived there this weekend. There were the two performance rodeo's and then one long run this morning. I missed the first rodeo but with work and tours it just didn't fit in. Anyway here are some pictures of Jeremiah in action...

Easter Cans!!!

In college Easter baskets begin to be a thing of the past, which is sad. So I made Easter Cans for my friends. I would have posted this earlier but I had to give them all out first. My mom gave me the cans and then she bought the eggs and candy too. =) But I just used ribbon I already had (I love ribbon and always have a ton).

By the way, I did get an Easter Basket of sorts... my mom is buying me a new nose ring... man how times have changed. =) And she helped me make these so she helped me spread the joy. My mom is awesome!

School... overwhelming. School, two jobs, program planning, Crusade, summer project preparations, investing in people, sleeping and eating... is there any time for breathing?

Spring is Here!!!

Spring has hit California and I love it! I just thought I would share some pictures of the blossoms and green hills. I am in awe of God this time of year when he brings out the best of California. =) I hope you all can take some time out to explore his creation before the summer heat wilts it all. Happy Spring!!!

Australia =)

Blue Mountains.

Fish and Chips!!!

Giant Fruit Bat.

Botanical Gardens.

Sydney Opera House.

The fam... matching unintentionally.

One thing I have been telling people about my spring break was that it was fun, not necessarily because Australia itself is fun but because being with my family was amazing! =) Three things we did the most: drive around (and I mean all over), watch my Dad get us lost, and ate... a lot. If you ever take a trip to Australia avoid the Vegemite but hit up the Tim Tams, Solo, and fish and chips. Since the trip was a week and was packed full of goodness I will just highlight a few adventures that really stuck out:
1. Driving 3 hours to see a quilt store. The store was super cute and worth it since we got amazing Fish and Chips in a sketchy restaurant =) and because road tripping with my family was a blast.
2. Hiking the Blue Mountains. So Gorgeous! God is so creative and I was in awe of him constantly when we were walking around the falls and trees. It was very Indiana Jones esque.
3. The different beaches walked around. They were also really beautiful and relaxing.
4. Dinner in our condo. My older sister Amanda, who we were visiting, cooked for us a lot and it was really good. Our condo was legit too. It had a living room, full kitchen and dining room and two bedrooms and bathrooms. Plus a balcony... so cool. =)
5. Meeting my sister's close friend in Australia (she is from Colorado) who's ex-boyfriend was in my WOW group. Small world? I think so.
6. Petting a Wallaby in the Zoo, seeing all of the tropical birds flying around like pigeons, and the giant fruit bats in the botanical gardens.
7. Driving on a racetrack in our rental car. So trippy! They use this really nice car race track as a road and people live off of it! Imagine having races next to your house...
Of course a lot more then just these few things happened that made the trip worth it but you can ask me about those later if you want. Overall it was great to see Amanda again and bond with the fam. Go Johnson Family! =)
