On Being Complacent

According to Dictionary.com (valid source, I know) complacent means being pleased, esp. with oneself or one's merits, advantages, situation, etc., often without awareness of some potential danger or defect; self-satisfied.
This is me! Whenever the Lord blesses me with a time of peace and comfort I run around like a little kid with their new allowance thinking, "Oh look what I accomplished! My life is all put together and I earned it!" Then naturally I come to a screeching halt. Like my last post talked about, I fall on my behind feeling lost and confused. Now look what I accomplished.
But that's not the end of the story, thank the Lord! (literally) A few more verses pop in my mind about this.

Ephesians 2:8-10"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

1 Chronicles 16:8-12
"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced..."
