My New "One For One"
Let me tell you about a discovery I made this week that put a huge smile on my face. It involves a one for one movement (no it is not Toms) and a game I have learned to love even more over these past months. The company/movement is called Little Feet and it is a company that hands out a soccer ball to a kid in need (this includes the USA, Haiti, and Mexico) when you buy one of their soccer balls at Sports Chalet or online. The balls are well made, have cool colors, and have a message: that soccer is not only about winning, it is about building community and giving kids a productive outlet for their energy. They have donated over 100,000 soccer balls to children in over 50 countries around the world since 2006. Their website also states that "In 2010, Little Feet began building soccer fields for communities in need and completed our first field at a remote coffee cooperative in Las Capucas, Honduras. In the Spring of 2011, we completed our second field, this time a futsal field, in Huacas, Costa Rica..." My conclusion? If you are going to buy a soccer ball, buy theirs and know you put a smile on a lot of kid's faces... and mine. =)
